The dark of the room that the man now resided in was quiet, what for the hum of demons underneath the floor. He placed his ear to the floor, which was strangely cold and shirked at his touch, the metal of a wholly different type of anything he had ever known, though he wasn’t sure what it was about it that made it wrong

He took a step towards the portal that glowed with a mysterious emblem that he had never known before. Upon approach, the thing beeped with acceptance, or what he perceived as acceptance. As it dinged, he took a step back, but as it opened, he stepped into the hallway, his footsteps reverberating through the hallways like an echo from a war drum.

And yet, people seemed to exist in this place. He saw them dallying back and forth, stepping to and fro. He was ultimately confused, but here now he was, as starkly different against the backdrop as if he were a bird in a mine, though he felt only the queerer for everything around him was out of place in his field of vision. Or perhaps, he was the most out of place thing in this existence.

“I would like to say first, if you may permit my personage, that I am all oh so cursed, especially with this strange cage.” he announced, to anyone, as if expecting something somewhere to answer him.
